[Enchiridion Valentia][Miscellaneous][Demon Types][Back to Main]
Here will be a page to find knowledge of demons and other stuff that is not in the valentia's. As enchiridion means guidebook basically, that is why this page is called such. And since it is different then the enchiridion Valentia, it is not called such.
The official valentia can be found here. At the link you will find a copy of the valentia that is available in game to buy at any sorcerer guild. The in-game Version costs 75k and has some nice abilities and cool scripts.
Show:
a sigil-chased dark leather volume
Encircled by a series of ten silver sigils, the volume is bound by well-polished leather of a solid ebon hue. Within the very heart of the central spiral of sigils is an intricate crest -- that of a solid steel pentacle upon a field of grey, the lustrous metal stained a deep incarnadine. Arcing designs of silver wreath the spine of the volume, and a small depression dips gracefully along the upper edges, bordered by glimmering shards of faceted onyx.
Take while volume is locked(only one who locked it can get it):
The dark leather volume suddenly shivers briefly, its pages rustling against one another as it shakes and rattles -- and then a deep black orb suddenly materializes around it, its surface slick and giving your fingers no purchase.
Hakwea attempts to pick up the volume, and it suddenly begins to shiver and rustle of its own accord. After a moment, a deep black orb rises around it, and it slips from Hakwea's grip as the shadowy shield dissipates.
Lock:
You trace your fingers in a slow, circular spiral around the dark leather volume, allowing your power to fuse with its own as its surface comes alive with frenetic slivers of blue-black energy. It responds to your command and you feel the sigils pulse in unison, an unseen force shrouding itself around the volume's in a tight embrace.
Hakwea begins to trace his fingers in a slow, circular spiral around the dark leather volume, and its surface comes alive with frenetic slivers of blue-black energy. After a moment, the essence fades away, and its hue darkens, pulsing briefly like a black heart before returning to normal.
Already Locked:
You can see by the faint pattern of sigils upon the cover that the volume is already locked.

In GemStone IV and elanthia there exists demons that are not summonable with 725. Most of these demons have little known about them as they have appeared in invasions and only one facet of them is known. I will also cover information about demons that can't be found in Valentia's
The feather color of Verloks can be of any hue in the yellow, red and orange family. Each feather holds one rub of the major spirit spell 205-light.
Verlok'cina:
>>A ruby-eyed imflass verlok'cina glides into the room swiftly while slowly cocking its head.
>>A brightly plumed toucan enters with an attentive look
>>A mass of pale golden feathers clusters around the imflass frame of the verlok'cina and emits a pale illumination that bathes the area in a soft glow. As the feathers move, it is evident that nothing anchors them to the verlok'cina's body. Wheeling and gliding on outstretched wings, the creature hums without pause as it scans the ground below with faceted eyes. Although the nature of the verlok seems gracefully mechanical, it possesses an aura of intelligence that extends beyond a union of metal parts.
Verlok'ar:
>>A ruby-eyed gornar verlok'ar glides into the room swiftly while slowly cocking its head
>>A mass of orange feathers clusters around the gornar frame of the verlok'ar and emits a pale illumination that bathes the area in a soft glow. As the feathers move, it is evident that nothing anchors them to the verlok'ar's body. Abyran'sa:
>>The fanged and fork-tongued abyran'sa rarely ceases movement, its elongated tail and arms a blur of activity that keep it balanced upright with a display of grace and strength. Its silvery white eyes, unblinking and without pupils, fix methodically and sequentially on each living thing in the area, as if constantly assessing each for unknown purposes. The coronet of finger-like protrusions ringing the abyran'sa's head writhes like a nest of snakes awaking as a singular throng of independent minds.
Abyran'a:
>>A large-fanged dull violet abyran'a slithers into the room, scanning the air with its tongue.

The Vreen are interesting creatures. There is some dispute as to if they are really demons do to the nature of their orgins. The Vreen morphs first appeared in the town of Rivers Rest when an elven mage was performing research with a mandis crystal. The results of these expirements unleashed the Vreen. The Vreen however did not come through the veil like minor demons, instead they come from someplace within the ground. They were later referred to as extra demensional beings, which demons are sometimes called, however they were also said to not be like the summoning magic that the Faendryl used. Regardless of their unconfirmed nature, they were still fearsome beasts. they spread like the red rot and multiplied like rabbits. The Vreen hit many places in elanthia, but were drawn to the cold areas, with Icemule Trace being one of the places hit the hardest.
There seemed to be no end in sight to these northern communities as no one was stepping forward to deal with these creatures, as no one was stepping forward to to deal with these creatures. Sure adventurers and militias fought them back the best they could, but that would only be a short term solution, as each day more and more people were killed by the Vreens. Many of those killed were unsuspecting, as the Vreen would morph into their fathers, daughters, friends etc and would capture them unaware. A Faendryl who was being held prisoner in Icemule for failure to pay his gambling debts proposed a deal. The deal was in return for his freedom and belongings he would help the desperate halflings with his knowledge of summoned creatures. Remember at this time the Faendryl have not yet released the basics of demon summoning, so there were few that could or even would offer what this Faendryl was offering to the halflings. this started the begriming of the end for the Vreen reign, as the halflings accepted the deal.
The Faendryl with a escort of adventurers traveled to many hives that held queens to research ways of banishing the Vreen. Many Vreen and their queens were killed in this process and a few were even captured for testing. After a li little time the Faendryl led a final assault on a Vreen hive. The Faendryl used his knowledge and magic to hold the Vreen queen in a magical prison. The Vreen were finally banished with the help of the adventurers present when they aided the Faendryl by casting spells that produced light. After this all the Vreen every where were banished from elanthia, and nothing has proved this to not be the case as no Vreen have been spotted since. Rumor has it that the Faendryl involved was taken back to New Ta'Faendryl by the basilican officials and beheaded for divulging knowledge to non-Faendryls on the subject of demons and summoned creatures.
The abyran'ra are Lesser demons from the Lorae'tyr valence. There will be no information in the valentia about them, as the Faendryl were careful to only release information about minor demons, and to modify all the entries to not reflect and lesser demons, or even major demons. Little is known about this demons, though they do prove to be a tough foe. They have been used in the GSS saga, and the animate dead storyline. As well as in the release event for minor summoning.
Even less is known about these Lesser demons. The first were introduced to the game on one of the wavedancer quest. And have since been used in the GSS.

The Vruul is another demon, not much is known about this type of demon. This demon however is a standard huntable creature. There are two varieties of Vruul, Greater and Lesser. The two t types are both considered Lesser demons
The Lesser Variety looks like this :
The lesser vruul has tough, leathery hide, as black as midnight. Bat-like wings sprout from its back, but they do not look large or strong enough to support its weight in flight. The vruul's claws are long, sharp and appear to be stained with the blood of many victims. Its eyes are eerie, solid green orbs that seem to glow with an inner power
While the greater variety looks like this:
The greater vruul has tough, leathery hide, as black as midnight. Bat-like wings sprout from its back, but they do not look large or strong enough to support its weight in flight. The vruul's claws are long, sharp and appear to be stained with the blood of many victims. Its eyes are eerie, solid green orbs that seem to glow with an inner power.
The Vruul can be found in the Broken Lands. .Immune to Heat, and directed Elemental Magic, including aimed bolt spells and those that require a warding roll. They aren't completely immune to the effects of elemental magic, as they can be Ewaved, if you do not direct the spell right at them. Wands supposedly work against them. Immune to any weapon fewer than three enchants
The ithzir are some of the most powerful creatures that inhabit elanthia. They are a variety of Lesser demons, and are quite powerful and varied. The now currently reside in the ruins of Old Ta'Faendryl. There are rumors on how they got there, and some say it was a tactic by the Faendryl before the left so no one else would live in the city, others say the ithzir returned to where a careless demon master summoned them before. What is known, is that they are not going anywhere and are very intelligent foes. A barrier was erected by the top mages of the Illistim in order to keep the ithzir confined to that area, though some have the idea that it was more to keep the Faendryl out. However, Faendryl can enter the place so that is most likely elven lies. The ithzir themselves can go outside that barrier, most notably was when they sought after some rings of great importance to them.
There are a total of six different Ithzir that are commonly seen. More probably exist in which ever valence the Ithzir originally came from, but these are the ones that are seen about there home in GemStone IV IV. These are adepts, heralds, initiates, janissaries, scouts and seers.
The ithzir adept looks like:
The Ithzir adept carries a bearing of absolute confidence, his piercing, pupil-less green eyes shrewdly taking in his surroundings. The Ithzir adept is slightly taller than a human, and while his humanoid form is similar to scores of other races, the hairless, blue-skinned body is nonetheless alien in its appearance. The adept wears a crisply-cut, silvery-blue tunic with high shoulders and a deep vee-neck. Emblazoned on the right breast of the tunic is a single green eye.
The ithzir Herald looks like:
A trio of black tattooed stripes run from center of the Ithzir herald's forehead and over the crown of his bald, blue-skinned head. The Ithzir herald is slightly taller than a human, and while his humanoid form is similar to scores of other races, the hairless, blue body is nonetheless alien in its appearance. The herald wears a fine silvery-blue tunic crossed with a green tabard.
The ithzir Initiate looks like:
The Ithzir initiate carries herself with a humble bearing, her arresting, pupil-less green eyes taking in her surroundings with confidence and surety. Even when battle rages around her, each movement of the initiate seems eerily effortless and calm. The Ithzir initiate is slightly taller than a human, and while her humanoid form is similar to scores of other races, the hairless, blue-skinned body is nonetheless alien in its appearance. The initiate wears a crisply-cut, blue tunic with a green palm-print emblazoned on the right breast.
The Ithzir Janissary looks like:
The Ithzir janissary's movements are both aggressive and graceful, his muscular, lithe form the envy of any acrobat or student of the martial arts. Wide, upward-slanted, green eyes take in his surroundings with an easy confidence, as if the fate of any opponent is not a matter of chance, only of time. The Ithzir janissary is a head taller than a human, and while his humanoid form is similar to scores of other races, the hairless, blue-skinned body is nonetheless alien in its appearance. The janissary wears a crisply-cut silvery blue tunic emblazoned with a feline silhouette on the right breast.
The Ithzir Scout looks like:
Wide, pupil-less green eyes peer about, quickly assessing both threats and terrain. The Ithzir scout stalks in a fluid, half-crouch that is as graceful as it is lightning fast, his whole demeanor underscoring his menace and obvious intelligence. The Ithzir scout is slightly taller than a human, and while his humanoid form is similar to scores of other races, the hairless, blue-skinned body is nonetheless alien in its appearance. The scout wears a charcoal grey tunic with no apparent identifiers of his station.
The Ithzir Seer looks like:
The Ithzir seer carries an authoritative bearing, her arresting, pupil-less green eyes taking in her surroundings with both confidence and cunning. Even when battle rages around her, each movement of the seer seems eerily effortless and calm. The Ithzir seer is slightly taller than a human, and while her humanoid form is similar to scores of other races, the hairless, blue-skinned body is nonetheless alien in its appearance. The seer wears a crisply-cut, silvery-blue tunic with high shoulders and a deep vee-neck. Emblazoned on the right breast of the tunic is a twelve-pointed golden star.
As you can see the Ithzir are a varied race of beings. They have a culture, but much of its exact nature is unknown.
